“Karen Fitzgerald was born on a dairy farm in central Wisconsin.  Her early experiences living closely among nature, formed a basis for her work.  The artist has a strong interest in the ideas of growth and the changing states of light and matter.  Paint is applied in layers of thin wash that bring a luminous meditative quality to her painting.”
